2025 Eastern Division Young Composers Showcase

Deadline January 20, 2025

Young composers in the Eastern Division from Kindergarten through college are invited to submit their original works for the Young Composers Showcase. Compositions are organized into three categories: Traditional Notation, Electronic, and Songwriting, and four age groups: K-5, 6-8, 9-12, and collegiate. Compositions can be done by a single composer or a pair/team; whole-class compositions will not be accepted.

The application deadline is Sunday, December 15, 2024, 11:59 PM EST. A committee and a composer will blindly review submitted works. You will be notified if your composition has been selected to be displayed in the Young Composers Showcase Gallery or selected to be performed live in the Young Composers Concert no later than Monday, January 20, 2025. If your composition is chosen to be displayed in the Showcase or for the Young Composers Concert, special events specifically for the student composers will take place on Saturday, April 26th, including time with a published composer (will be announced soon), meet-and-greet, and Young Composers Concert at 3:15-4:15 PM.

As an exhibitor, we invite you to attend the NAfME Eastern Division Conference in Hartford, CT, April 24-26, 2025. This year, nearly 1,000 educators from ME, NH, VT, NY, MA, CT, RI, PA, NJ, DE, MD, DC, Europe, and beyond. We will also have over 700 students in six different ensembles.

Exhibits are vital to our conference since music educators depend on the music industry for the tools to supplement their teaching skills. Music exhibitors can display their products and services to those who influence purchasing. You will reach an exclusive music education audience.
