Qualified adjudicators are needed to give our aspiring music students positive and constructive feedback to help them grow as musicians while evaluating them fairly and consistently for acceptance into regional and all state festival ensembles.
CMEA offers hourly compensation to school or private music teachers, professional performers or graduate music students who serve as adjudicators for our festivals.
How do I sign up to adjudicate?
1. Go to our audition website, CTFest.net and register as a new judge.
2. View both the “CTFest Primer for Judges” and “How to Score” videos on this page.
3. Attend an Adjudicator Training Session. While not required, attending one of these will not only increase the hourly rate that you will receive for judging but will help make sure that our students are getting consistently adjudicated at each festival. Training sessions are offered both in the fall and at our spring conference and last approximately two hours.
