CMEA is hiring an Assistant to the Executive Director
Assistant to Executive Director
Connecticut Music Educators Association is seeking an assistant to the executive director to work in their Middletown office.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Music Library
- Maintain the organization of the CMEA Music Library
- Receive and process music orders.
- Purchase and rent music not in the CMEA Library
- Maintain accurate records of music distribution and return.
- Work with the Executive Director to digitize the music library.
Office Tasks
- Maintain office supply inventory.
- Check CMEA voicemail and Info email
- Manage all office equipment and services
- Track payments for regional auditions, regional festivals, All-State, conferences, and SAF payments
- Update database
- Support in other areas when needed – Brushfire, website, and music festivals
Regional and All-State Festivals
- Work with the Executive Director to prepare for the annual Regional Auditions/Festivals, In-Service Conference, and All-State Auditions/Festivals.
- Manage onsite registration at some auditions and festivals.
- Provide support to judge chairs and committee chairs with scheduling and logistics.

Preference is given to candidates with an arts or music background
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $21.00 – $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week

MUSC Adjunct Instructor in Music – University of New Haven: Faculty: College of Arts and Sciences: Performing Arts Division (Music/Theater Arts)
The University of New Haven invites applications for adjunct instructor positions in Music to begin in Fall 2024 semester. The position supports the instructional needs of the Department of Music, Theater, and Dance. Specific teaching needs include “Intro to Music”; “Music and Global Cultures”, and “History of Rock”, but applicants with a broad range of expertise are encouraged to apply.
Preferred applicants will have strong written and oral communication skills, a postgraduate degree in related subject, and college-level teaching experience. Experience with instructional technology, using web-based instructional software, or other learning management systems is a plus.
