Northern Region Middle School Festival

Audition Information

Auditions for region festivals during the 2021-22 school year will be held virtually through the CTFest Audition platform which will open for teachers in August. A completed school association fee (SAF) form and payment must be received, and teachers’ individual CMEA/NAfME memberships must be current in order to register students for auditions.

Though region auditions are once again virtual, CMEA is planning to hold the region festivals in-person and also, hold the All-State auditions in- person.

Audition Registration closes December 3, 2021 **
Last Day to upload videos is December 11, 2021
Audition Fee: $15 (Postmarked by 12/11/21)

**Late registrations will not be accepted under any circumstance. Audition registration closes December 3rd, however teachers may continue to upload videos past that date for previously registered students until December 11th.

Festival Information

March 11-12, 2022 (snow dates 3/18-19)  Site to be determined

Festival Acceptance by January 7, 2022
Festival Fee: $30 (Postmarked by 1/28/22)
Concert Ticket: $18

HARP Auditions: All MS and HS harp region auditions will take place together on one day at the Southern Region HS Auditions, on November 21 at Joseph A. Foran High School, Milford. Teachers should register harp students in their own regions as they do all other students. MS teachers please note that MS harp students must be registered on CTFest by October 23, in order to create the SRHS schedule.

CMEA Copyright Policy

CMEA expects all students participating in the audition process to abide by all copyright laws. Students must have an original piece of music, a digitally purchased copy w/receipt, a public domain copy, or perform from memory. With the exception of students performing from memory, students auditioning without an acceptable copy of music may be disqualified from festival participation.
