Dear 2024-25 NAfME Eastern Division Ensemble Student,
Congratulations again on being selected to participate in the 2024-25 NAfME Eastern Division Ensemble Festival hosted by the Connecticut Music Educators Association. You have worked incredibly hard to make it into your state’s Music Educators Association All-State Ensemble, and that hard work has now earned you a spot at this festival. We are so excited to welcome you to Connecticut in April 2025.
This packet will give you information regarding seating placement auditions. This applies to orchestra strings and select orchestra winds ONLY. This is NOT required. Those who do not audition will be placed in the remaining seats after those who do submit a video alphabetically by last name. All videos will be listened to and rated by the ensemble chairs.

Orchestra non-auditioned brass and percussion assignments will be released shortly.

MORE CHAPERONES ARE NEEDED for BAND and ORCHESTRA!
Are you a MEA member (educator or administrator) in one of the eleven Northeastern states or District of Columbia (Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont).
YOU ARE NEEDED as a chaperone for either BAND or ORCHESTRA for the 2025 NAfME Eastern Division Festival Ensembles. If you are willing to serve as an overnight chaperone, please read the Chaperone Agreement below and complete this form by Wednesday February 26. 2025.
Each chaperone will be responsible for approximately 12-16 students. CMEA will provide the following to chaperones for their service:
● A hotel room in the same location as your assigned group.
● All meals provided and conference admission (there will be a sign-up sheet for chaperones to be able to take shifts in attending the conference)

Concerts:
Jazz Ensemble & Modern Band – Saturday, April 26, 2025 – 7pm Band
Mixed Chorus and Treble Chorus – Sunday, April 27, 2025 – 11am
Band and Orchestra – Sunday, April 27, 2025 – 1pm
Both concerts will take place at The Bushnell Performing Arts Center, 166 Capitol Avenue, Hartford, CT 06106
ALL chaperones MUST be current NAfME members and at least 21 years of age or older.
The CT All State festival will take place at Wethersfield HS March 27-29.

The CMEA Outstanding Emerging Music Educator Award is awarded to a promising music educator in Connecticut who has demonstrated excellence, dedication to their students, and perseverance thus far in their career.
The CMEA Outstanding Music Educator Award is awarded to a music educator in Connecticut who has demonstrated excellence and dedication to their students in the field of music education.
The CMEA Outstanding Administrator Award is awarded to a school administrator, arts director, program director, or anyone in an arts administration role. This administrator has shown great support and guidance to the music educators they oversee.
